Electrical Career

I started work as an apprentice electrician in 1980, working for a small electrical contractor. I worked mainly on industrial sites such as Esso petroleum storage plants, Heathrow airport maintenance hangers, and various factories around the West London area. After finishing my apprentiship I worked as a maintenance electrician in a paper mill and then a food manufacturing factory, and then in 2003 I became a solely self-employed electrican, providing Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Electrica Installations.

In 2005 I attended Langley College for two courses the first a regulation update course, the second; Inspection and Testing C&G 2391.

In 2006 my Daughter Kirsty joined me as an apprentice electrician, and is currently a day release student at Langley College studying to gain a qualification in electricial work. Since the part P building regulation has been introduced I have joined the NICEIC as a domestic installer. (Click here to see CJ Lakin listed in NICEIC)
